Rembrandt Cigar company was founded by CEO, Steven Gonzalez, who has over twenty years in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry, his work has allowed him to visit the finest restaurants in New York City for over twenty years, and great restaurants ignited his love for travel, cigars, friendship, fine dining, and fine wine. Steve found an exclusive Puerto Rican coffee shop in NYC, that triggered the question if Puerto Rican tobacco existed, and was being sold, when he researched he discovered that Puerto Rican tobacco was a premium export in the early twenty century, and the Puerto Rican economy changed in the 1950s because of industrialization, so the tobacco industry faded. Steven researched if Puerto Rican tobacco farmers existed, his extensive search led him to an exclusive farm in the Rio Grande that hand rolls cigars with pesticide-free Puerto Rican Tobacco. Steven entered into a partnership with the Farm and has an exclusive agreement to sell the cigars which have Puerto Rican, Dominican Tobacco, and Ecuadorian wrappers.
Phillip Piranio, who is a partner in the company has over twenty-five years in the fine wine industry and cherishes good food, his free time, and indulging in a fine cigar, his relationship with wine distributors makes him a valuable asset as Rembrandt Cigars are a perfect fit with fine wine, coffee, and Whisky
A unique selling point of Rembrandt Cigars is the “Taste is in the Soil” Rembrandt will be the only cigar company that makes handmade cigars with the unique and fantastic Puerto Rican tobacco which is grown on a farm without pesticides. Proceeds of Rembrandt will go to finance pesticide-free farms in Puerto Rico.
